Spotlight | What’s in store music Interview

Nadel Paris has made a name for herself in the EDM world as a multi-talented singer-songwriter, musician and producer. Her single, “Ooh La La La” is No. 19 on our current chart and No. 26 on the new “The Dance Environment” chart. She has a way of connecting with her fans through both her songwriting and her performances and we’re thrilled to be working with Nadel!

Music formats evolve over time. How has the Electronic Dance Music (EDM) landscape changed and where do you see it heading?

EDM is now crossing over to pop, I believe. It’s been like that in Europe, where an EDM artist, from what I understand is considered as a pop artist. I’d love to cross over the pop myself. You get to be more radio friendly. Like my Ooh La La La la remixes, now have a pop remix, which apparently KIIS FM likes, along with other Top 40 stations. courtesy of Michael Sutton. I am apparently crossing over the Rhythmic stations, as well!! And that makes me feel a bit established as a singer, LOL! I am so grateful for that, because I love R&B so, so much! Rap also.

What career accomplishments make you most proud?

That I can sing for an audience and make them happy. The interaction with other human beings, has to be at a soul level. You sing from the heart you receive back from the same place. It’s all about love.

You go way back with producer DJ M … tell us about your history and what you love about working together.

DJ. M and I have the same musical sensitivity. We think and hear alike. Also, our work ethics are very similar. What I mean by that is that none of us takes a day off. We both have power jobs, and do business, and we work all the time, as music is another full time job.

Your music conveys strong social messages that evoke compassion and intelligent conversations. What message do you think resonates most with your fans?

You formulated this question so kindly, thank you! I think that people get that I come from a genuine exchange with the fans. This whole thing about “sexy” Nadel is a myth, by the way. I do like sexy lyrics, though.

But sex, is just what it is. Everybody seeks a strong connection with ONE human being. No matter what I do, I want to give something to other people, which can help them enjoy the moment we spend together, and forget stuff which may not always empower them. The key is universal love. being at stand for other human beings is always my goal.

If you can go back in time, what artist(s) would you like to collaborate with?

Janis Joplin. I would do a duet with her. It would be so rock n’ roll, soulful, and crazy! I would also sit with her and tell her who she really is. Explain to her about her anger, and why she deserves to be happy and doesn’t need to numb anything about life, because she can create hers exactly the way she wants it to be. She’d still be around, doing great things for children! She’s be like 75 or something, looking amazing like Cher!

Finally, a shameless plug: What would you like people to know about you?

That I genuinely love to sing and perform. I love to produce and empower other performers, too.

None of it is about making big bucks or fame. Of course, we all want love, LOL! But the journey which I wish for myself is being able to share the craft, anyway I can.

Nadel Paris On Music Existence

EDM Mood Maker/ Pop Realist, Nadel Paris’ new single, “Oooh La La La La” hits the Billboard Dance chart. Currently, the single is #38 and is set to climb the Top 40 Radio chart as programmers embrace the song across the country!

Nadel came to America from France with her producer, DJ M. As their bond grew, Nadel realized she was the best choice to perform her music. Nadel says, “I was shocked, when I sang, my accent was barely noticeable!” With an IQ of 150, Nadel has a hard time holding her tongue when it comes to politics and gender equality and hopes to be part of the movement to help boost how people view fluid sexuality. She’s openly bisexual and says, “Fluid sexuality loses its course when it is okay with some, and shocking to others. We need to teach people through example that if you love a man or a woman, it doesn’t matter. We’re all empowered by the same desires and needs: we all just want to be loved. What counts is the way you handle people; hopefully it’s with respect, loving and caring for your partner. That is what matters the most! You may be in a relationship for eighty years or get a divorce after eight, whom you love should not be a factor for prejudice or fiasco.”

Nadel’s lyrics focus on the social issues of the day but also bang a hyper electro beat; breaking barriers while staying true to the music. She says, “There’s a shock factor to most of my songs. At the same time, I try to present a strong image of women. The single exudes sexuality and having an amazing time, but always trying to stay real. When you’re done, you should go, no lies or broken promises. Today, we run the show and that’s an underlying thread of my single, staying strong and fearless.”

A native-born Parisian, Nadel’s Mom was a Christian Dior model; that’s where she learned about the qualities of beauty, compassion and higher learning. At age 12, she had a contract with EMI France which helped jump start her love of music and acting.

Nadel adds, “I was born in the wrong era; but I’m thrilled to have access to technology to remix my music to match my full creative potential. I love how ‘Ooh La La La’ starts out Pop and evolves into something more electrifyingly EDM. My dream is to blend the best of both fantastic eras, pre-computer and digital.”

Nadel’s new single is gaining radio airplay across the country, widening Nadel’s audience reach with every spin! The debut video for her single, “Ooh La La La” will be available in March.
